Szczecin, Poland, 2009, study, in cooperation with Daniel Jo Krüger and Tristan Lannuzel, client: Stage Craft
This one-of-a-kind, multi-use opera house is intended to serve as a temporary venue for the Szczecin Opera during the renovation of the city’s historic opera house. After the Opera’s return home, the multi-use venue is able to expand its program to other modes of performance, serving as a provocative example of adaptive reuse for the Szczecin harbor. Intervention in the existing industrial structure is minimal, and its adaptive reuse is cost-effective, e.g. by utilizing scaffolding as underlying support for its inclined auditorium seating.
